Director’s Message
Read the Director’s Message and learn how Makassed’s eight rural schools provide quality education to more than 2,000 students across Akkar and the Bekaa.
The rural schools of the Makassed Philanthropic Islamic Association of Beirut are committed to providing students with high-quality education in a safe and supportive school environment. Guided by the vision and mission of the Education Affairs Department, we continuously work to enhance the teaching and learning process in line with the educational requirements of the twenty-first century, while addressing the diverse needs of the communities we serve.
As the administration responsible for Makassed schools located outside Beirut, extending across Lebanon’s northern and eastern regions in the Akkar and Bekaa governorates, we have worked to establish consistent and well-structured operational practices across all schools. This has included developing unified educational management policies and defining clear objectives that prioritize students’ best interests while ensuring the effective organization of administrative, financial, and educational operations.
Our administration is also committed to engaging all teaching and administrative staff in continuous professional development. Through specialized training programs, we seek to enhance performance, introduce innovative educational programs, and implement modern teaching and learning strategies.
Each year, our eight schools welcome more than 2,000 students and are supported by approximately 135 teachers and administrative staff members. Four schools use English as the primary language of instruction, while the other four use French. The schools are located across the Central and Western Bekaa, Northern Bekaa, the highlands of Akkar, and Wadi Khaled.
We are proud of our students and remain dedicated to empowering them and strengthening their critical-thinking skills. Our aim is to prepare a capable and engaged future generation that can contribute effectively to the development of its local communities.
